ARTISTRY's Runway-Ready Makeup Look

Getting out of the house is not on many people’s agenda these days as we all do our part to practise social distancing, fight the spread of the coronavirus and flatten the curve.

Thanks to our wireless society, however, that doesn’t mean we don’t have the opportunity to see people—and be seen by others. Video conferencing has been used in the workplace for some time. Now book clubs, extended family dinners, happy hours and exercise classes are joining in.

So why not look your best and feel confident when you click on that camera icon? You can even use the extra time on your hands to try some new looks.

Get The Look

Need some ideas? How about this runway-ready look ARTISTRY Creative Director of Makeup Design Rick DiCecca created?

Rick used the new ARTISTRY STUDIO Tokyo Edition for his look. The products were inspired by the fashion, colours and kawaii of Tokyo, one of the largest cities in the world. Kawaii, a Japanese word that translates to ‘cute’, is about being fun, pretty and playful.

“My goal was to create an elegant makeup design, both in colour and form, and work on a full range of skin tones and facial features,” Rick said. “The shades and finishes in the new ARTISTRY STUDIO Tokyo Edition made achieving this look effortless.”

Ready to create your own effortless look? Let’s get started!

Prepare Your Skin Runway

Prepare Your Skin

Preparing your skin before applying makeup is a key step. First, sweep ARTISTRY HYDRA-V Fresh Toner over your face using a cotton pad. Next, apply a few pumps of the ARTISTRY SIGNATURE SELECT Personalized Serum with the Hydration Amplifier over your face, making sure to massage it into your skin for best results.

Follow that with ARTISTRY HYDRA-V Refreshing Eye Gel Cream and ARTISTRY SUPREME LX Regenerating Eye Cream around the eye area, in that order. Finish by massaging ARTISTRY SUPREME LX Regenerating Cream over your face.

Runway Face Tokyo Edition

Face

Moving on to makeup, gather the ARTISTRY STUDIO Correct & Perfect Face Compact, ARTISTRY EXACT FIT Perfecting Concealer and ARTISTRY EXACT FIT Perfecting Loose Powder in shades appropriate for your skin tone.

Apply the colour correctors to your face and under-eye area to correct any skin redness, discolouration or dark circles. Use green to correct redness, lavender to even your tone and brightness and dark peach for the dark, under-eye circles or skin discolourations.

Using the sponge applicator or your fingers, apply the foundation from your Perfect Face Compact to your face. Next, grab the ARTISTRY EXACT FIT Perfecting Concealer and apply to any area that needs a little extra coverage.

If a more semi-matte finish is desired, lightly dust your preferred shade of ARTISTRY EXACT FIT Perfecting Loose Powder over your face.

Runway Eyes Tokyo Edition

Eyes

Your first step is to grab the ARTISTRY STUDIO Eye & Lip Beauty Box in Kabuki Glam. Apply eyeshadow shade #5 over your eyelid from the upper lash line to the crease. Blend the same shadow along the lower lash line.

Next, apply eyeshadow shade #3 to the centre of the eyelid and blend toward the inner and outer eyelid to even out the shimmer effect. Reapply eyeshadow #5 to the area along the upper and lower lashes and into the crease to intensify the smoky effect.

Blend eyeshadow shade #1 to the area just under the brow, if necessary, to add a highlight.

Next, apply ARTISTRY STUDIO Mascara Base Primer over the top of the lashes and then under and through to the tips. Using the multi-row side of the ARTISTRY STUDIO Lash Boosting 3-in-1 Mascara wand fully extended, sweep the mascara over the top and then under and through to the tips.

Follow that with a second coat of the mascara primer over the top of the lashes and then under and through to the tips. Twist the wand to shorten it and condense the bristles. Then apply mascara to the lashes by wiggling the multi-row side of the wand at the lash roots before you glide it through to the tips.

Finish with the wand fully extended and using the single row side of the brush, sweep through lashes to add length and definition.

Runway Brows Tokyo Edition

Brows

Fill in the brows with the ARTISTRY STUDIO Power Brow Pen in either Ginza Chai Latte Brown or Ginza Cocoa Dark Brown. Using the tip and articulated side of the applicator, create the look of brow hairs by using short, light, quick strokes.

Runway Cheeks Tokyo Edition

Cheeks

Unlock the ARTISTRY STUDIO Oh-So-Cheeky Blusher by turning the top to the unlock symbol. Prime it by pressing down the sponge onto the back of your hand.

Using your preferred shade—Kimono Nude, Kimono Poppy or Kimono Coral—begin applying on the outer apple of your cheeks, tapping the applicator sponge along cheekbones toward your ear and then using the sponge to blend.

Using the same shade, lightly drape your face with colour, sweeping around the temples, along your hairline, jaw line, close to your ears and below ears along your neck.

Runway Lips Bangkok Edition

Lips

For the final touch, Rick used the ARTISTRY STUDIO 2-in-1 Matte Lip Crayon from the Bangkok Edition, either Rose Goddess or Spice Goddess.

With that, you are ready to show your face at your next video conference meeting or party or just to walk outside to get the mail or wave to your neighbours.
