Vergold Pomegranate With Grape Broasted Chicken With Rice



Ingredients

Marinade

  • 3 - 4in. ginger (finely grated) 
  • 6 cloves garlic (finely grated)
  • 6 tbsp light soya sauce
  • 6 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 6 tbsp Vergold Pomegranate With Grape Fruit Drink Base
  • 3 tsp red food colouring
  • 1 tsp white pepper
  • 6 tsp Chinese five-spice powder
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 - 2 bird’s eye chilis (optional)
  • 1.8kg of chicken leg (quarter chicken)

Hainanese Chicken Rice

  • Rice (as required)
  • Water (enough to cook the rice)
  • 2 - 3 slices pandan leaf
  • Vergold Hainanese Chicken Rice Paste

Method

  1. Mix the marinade ingredients well and marinate the chicken for at least 3-4 hours, preferably overnight. 
  2. Grill the chicken in the oven at 150-180°C for 20 minutes on each side. (Turning over the chicken is not required if using the Philips Airfryer.)
  3. Put the desired amount of rice, water, pandan leaf and Vergold Hainanese Chicken Rice Paste in a rice cooker. Mix evenly and start cooking. 
  4. When the rice starts to boil, mix it well and leave it to cook. Stir before serving.
